Gross motor
Executive functioning

They include all components of hand function : grip strength & endurance, finger dexterity, in-hand manipulation, bilateral coordination, finger isolation

& opposition.

Sensory processing & Self-regulation

Necessary to manage one's thoughts, level of alertness, feelings, physiological responses, and behaviour, so ADLs can be performed satisfyingly.

Sensory regulation skills:  allow to cope with sensory seeking behaviours & hyper/hypostimulation

Emotional regulation skills: allow to develop positive coping mechanisms when overwhelmed by feelings as sadness, anger & stress.

They include skills as balance, coordination, upper and lower body strength & endurance, core strength & endurance, as well as motor planning and sequencing

Oral motor

Allow movements of the muscles in the mouth, jaw, tongue, lips and cheeks. The strength, coordination and control of these oral structures are the foundation for feeding related tasks, such as sucking, biting, crunching, licking and chewing.

These skills include, among others, the capacity to organize your thoughts, plan ahead and meet goals, display self-control, follow multiple-step directions even when interrupted, stay focused despite distractions. They also include the ability to adapt to different situations and fix mistakes.

Visual perceptual
